I hope you are enjoying my web site, and thanks for taking the time to find out a little more about me and my passion - glass. I love what I do, and I believe it carries over into my beads.
Fire, color, melting, shifting, changing, these are the mesmerizing properties of glass that attracted me to glass beadmaking. After making my first bead, I was hooked. With my background in fine art, I studied various art forms before discovering my passion for the dynamic nature of glass. Since that day nearly a decade ago, I have been exploring and pushing its capabilities.
When I began making beads in the late 1990’s, the art of glass beadmaking was just gaining momentum in the United States. As a result, most of what I learned early on was through experimentation and personal experience. Once I became more confident with my skills and abilities, I expanded my repertoire by studying with other nationally known artists. In 2003, I ventured into the professional spectrum becoming a professionally renowned artist in my own right. In 2004, I joined a partnership with another fabulous beadmaker, Nolly Gelsinger, and the Bead Ladies were formed.
Today, I am committed to giving back to the art that has given me so much. Fueled by my fascination, I share my energy, enthusiasm, and experience introducing the mysteries of glass to others through demonstrations, workshops, and classes.
I am a member of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers (ISGB), and have attended their instructor’s seminar in 2005, 2006, and 2007. I am a member of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Society of Glass Beadmakers (MA-SGB) and the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen. I am a juried member of the York Town Craft Guild. My work has been displayed at the Museum of American Glass and published in Step by Step Beads.
